General Email Settings
These are the basic settings for setting up POP/SMTP email accounts for CalTel Internet. We have more detailed setup instructions for specific email clients here.
Incoming IMAP mail server settings:
| Mail Server Type: | IMAP |
| Incoming Mail Server: | mail.caltel.com |
| Username: | your full caltel.com email address (example@caltel.com) |
| Password: | your caltel.com email password |
| Connection Security: | SSL (or SSL/TLS) |
| Port: | 993 |
Outgoing mail server settings:
| Mail Server Type: | SMTP |
| Outgoing Mail Server: | mail.caltel.com |
| Username: | your full caltel.com email address (example@caltel.com) |
| Password: | your caltel.com email password |
| Connection Security: | StartTLS (or TLS) |
| Port: | 587 |
Incoming POP3 mail server settings: (no longer recommended)
| Mail Server Type: | POP3 |
| Incoming Mail Server: | mail.caltel.com |
| Username: | your full caltel.com email address (example@caltel.com) |
| Password: | your caltel.com email password |
| Connection Security: | SSL (or SSL/TLS) |
| Port: | 995 |
Errors:
If after entering the above information into your email client, if you get any errors saying there is a problem with the certificate, then your email program is too old to connect to our mail server. This is caused by using an operating system that is out of support. Some examples of unsupported operating systems include:
- Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 or 8.1
- MacOS 10.n (All versions of MacOS 10 and earlier are now unsupported)
- Android version 10 or earlier
- Apple iOS 13 and earlier.
