Magic Mail

Change Spam Settings

Click on “Spam Management” on the left-hand menu.

We recommend leaving the spam filter set to “Normal,(w/Quarantine)(RECOMMENDED)”. We do not allow disabling of spam protection, but you have control over who is sending you email by clicking “Show More”.

The following lists will appear: A blacklist is a list of items that will cause a message to be marked as spam. A whitelist is a list that will cause any messages that match it to be automatically accepted.

  • The Subject Blacklist marks messages as spam where the subject matches an entry in the list.
  • The From: Blacklist marks messages as spam where the from: address matches an entry in the list.
  • The From: Whitelist allows a message marked as spam to go through if the from: address matches an entry in the list.

Clicking on a list will pop up a small window that will show you all of your list entries and allow you to add a new entry.

As a note, you should not overuse white and black lists. It is better to determine why a message is either being marked as Spam or isn't, so that problem can be corrected. While you can whitelist a sender to circumvent the anti-Spam filters, doing so may expose you to potential trouble if that person's PC contracts a virus, etc. You should only use a whitelist or blacklist as a last resort.
