Updates are important for Apple Macintosh users. To do a software update on an Apple Macintosh, do the following:
- Click on the Apple in the upper-left hand corner of the screen.
- Choose 'Software Update'.
- After Software update checks for available software, the software you need is displayed in the 'Software Update' window.
- Click the 'Install Items' button in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.
- Type in the password for your computer, or if your computer does not have a password, leave the password field blank.
- Click 'OK'.
- The items will be downloaded and installed and you will be prompted to restart. Click on 'Restart'.
- Your computer may finish installing the updates before restarting.
Sometimes after a software update, your computer may take a long time to start back up or may restart twice. This is normal because the computer is finishing the update process.
